LILA YOGA SCHOOL 50HR Pre and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training February 2027 - REGISTRATION OPEN

Pre and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training

With Joanne Ewen & Emma Howie Smith at Līlā Yoga School

From February 2027, we are offering a 50-hour Pre and Postnatal Yoga Teacher Training at Lila Yoga.

We hope to bring together a group of students who are curious about pregnancy, birth and the postnatal experience, who want to explore how yoga can become a meaningful tool of support through it all.

Our approach is rooted in a more contemporary understanding of pregnancy and postnatal yoga: moving away from fear, restriction and rigid rules, and towards knowledge, informed choice and trust.

We want to teach you how to guide rather than prescribe. How to understand the individual woman in front of you, meet her where she is, and offer appropriate choices that allow her to stay connected to her body, her practice and her own intuition. At this time of profound physiological transition, we must acknowledge that every pregnancy, birth and postpartum experience is different. Our role as yoga teachers is not to tell women what they should or shouldn’t do, but to develop their knowledge and skills to support them thoughtfully through these changes.

Why Choose This Training?

This training is being led by Jo and Emma, each with more than 10 years of experience teaching pregnancy and postnatal yoga in and around Edinburgh. We’re bringing our knowledge, experience and passion together to create a training that is both deeply informed and grounded in real teaching experience.

Together, we’ll explore the changing needs of the pregnant and postnatal body, the realities of birth and recovery, and how yoga can be thoughtfully adapted to support people through this pivotal time. We’re excited to share a training that reflects where pregnancy and postnatal yoga is now knowledgeable, compassionate, empowering and grounded in real teaching experience.

Come and learn with us, deepen your knowledge and discover how you can support your students with greater confidence, understanding and care.
