• Moira McFarlane

    Co Founder & Teacher

Moira’s yoga practice was off and on over many years fitting in around a very hectic life, kids and work, until in 2016, Moira met Helen Gillespie of Mudra Yoga who set up a weekly class at Moira’s restaurant Spoon. Her practice grew from there and in 2018 Moira signed up for the Mudra Yoga 200 hour YTT. During this training Moira was diagnosed with breast cancer. Yoga helped her navigate through this time. After completing her YTT & cancer treatment she then went on to do a 50hr Yin YTT with Demelza Feltham and Yoga for Cancer 50hr YTT with Vicky Fox in Triyoga London, Yoga for Breast Care with Bobby Clennel, Chair Yoga with Yuvayoga and also Trauma informed Yoga with Lorraine Close at ECY.
Moira now teaches regularly with Edinburgh Community Yoga Outreach programmes, including Chair Yoga for health and a Socially Prescribed class at Craigmillar Medical Centre . Moira believes that yoga should be accessible to all. Yoga to be a constant teacher and she a dedicated student.
‘I know too well the healing benefits a yoga practice can bring to anyone dealing with a cancer diagnosis and any long term health issues. This has become my drive and determination to try and reach out to as many people as possible and to guide them through a safe and gentle healing practice.’

  • Emma Howie Smith

    Teacher

The physical aspect of yoga was always the draw for me. I loved the lasting feeling of the rhythmic movement of vinyasa left me with. As I practised more regularly I soon realised yoga went far beyond stretching and the mental benefits it gave me were transformational.

Being able to continue practising yoga through both my pregnancies helped me retain some normality in my life during a period of huge change. Yoga helped keep my body strong & flexible and it was my saviour in those early postpartum days.

Now as a Mum of two little boys I know how exhausting and often overwhelming it can be and understand first hand how important it is to make time for yourself during this time. I absolutely love teaching pregnancy yoga and sharing the benefits of this incredible practise with mums to be. Whether you're pregnant and want to move your body in a safe and effective way or you're looking for a way to fit movement into your life with baby by your side, I can't wait to welcome you to a class soon.

  • Ali Rogers

  • Sandie Accarier

    Teacher

Sandie first came to yoga in 2015 when a friend invited her to an Ashtanga class. A few months later, she wandered into a Vinyasa class and something clicked. Never having seen herself as particularly sporty, she was drawn to how Vinyasa connected movement, rhythm, and play.

Since then, yoga has been a constant thread in Sandie’s life — supporting her through different chapters and reminding her she can always come back to her body and breath.

Over time, she’s been drawn to Yin — a practice that deepened her understanding of stillness, acceptance, and the capacity to stay with what arises.

In her classes, Sandie blends intentional sequencing, music that matches the mood of the room, and moments of spontaneity. She values the community that grows when people move and breathe together, and the quiet connections that form through shared practice.

For Sandie, yoga is a practice of listening inwardly and reconnecting with the body — a way to bring the mind, emotions, and physical self into conversation. She hopes to create classes where people can explore movement and stillness — with awareness, curiosity, and acceptance.

  • Emma Pugh

    Teacher

I went to my first yoga class when I was thirteen and have found yoga a consistent source of peace, joy, and stability over the years. Not to mention an absolute necessity for keeping the stiffness in my back at bay! I qualified as an Iyengar yoga teacher in 2023, following a four year period of training and mentoring.

The Iyengar yoga system of teaching is methodical and progressive. When necessary, it uses supports called ‘props’ that allow students to progress in their practice of postures safely at their own pace, to suit their body. I have always loved the variety of asanas in Iyengar yoga classes, and the way that the practice brings many physical benefits while drawing the practitioner ever deeper into an understanding of how yoga can profoundly and positively change our experience of, and relationship to the world around us.
